Question for folks who have gone (or purchased ticket voucher). From the looks of it, you buy a voucher, which you then redeem online for a ticket, correct? Can you buy the voucher now, but fill in the attendee ticket details at a later time? I'm going to buy, but there's the off chance I won't be able to attend, so I'd like to give the ticket to someone else. The ticket holder needs photo ID to get in, so they obviously can't use my ticket. So I'd have to wait until I know for sure to claim the voucher, or put the other developer's information in.
Can that be done? Or do I need to claim the ticket at time of purchase? Based on the recent track record of WWDC selling out in a week, I'd like to make the purchase ASAP. Thanks.

Could these be Apples baby-steps into the console Market?
I predict we're going to hear about more than baby steps before the end of the year. If Apple really takes on gaming, it could be really cool with all the devices you could have for interaction and play.

In addition, you might read up on this and see that this is really douchebag behavior we're talking about where a publisher has a "free" game for kids and then charges $100 multiple times for "smurfberries". That's pretty slimy behavior. The intention is to get a child who doesn't understand it's not play money to have their parents download the app and put in their password, then use the 15-minute window to rob the parents. The parents are thinking this is some harmless game until they get the bill.
I would call this bad parenting if it didn't involve trickery. Do you really expect a child to understand the difference between play money and real money?

I doubt very much Macbook is getting updates at the same time Pro Models do. Thats not how Apple operates. First the pro models will be updated then that tech will show up months later in Macbook with some crippling like in the Gpu.
Actually, it wouldn't be the first time if Apple decides to update the MacBook and MacBook Pro together. They have done a full update with laptops before, though I will agree that I remember it being not too common.

Yeah, only a couple 1000 25MB pictures would fit on a Ipad 64GB, not near enough. :rolleyes:
Well lets see by my current usage that is 2 weekends worth of shots since i fill up 4 8GB cards. And who would imagine i would want access to all of my pictures or at least a months worth at a time and other things like apps, music and videos. :rolleyes:

Is it due to the fact that some of my numbers start +44 in my phonebook and they may start 07.... in facebook??

iOS evolution from 1 to 4 is somewhat disappointing. It has become somewhat stale, especially for the iPad. Hopefully iOS 5 is a big leap forward.
Yeah, it seems like they only make enough improvements to stay in the game, and aren't super interested in really mind-blowing advances. It's the little things that count for sure, but for all the hype you'd think we'd get something mind-boggling every once in a while.

Hate to say it but the website sure makes the company and product to be a bunch of BS... they make a lot of claims with little to back them up.
They may have a real and useful product but... man they could present it in a much better way.

You would have to be an absolute Apple-hater to go to Best Buy, play with both the iPad 2 and the Xoom (both currently on display for play) and come away thinking the Xoom was a better product. Go compare them yourselves side-by-side (well, they are about 15 feet apart at my Best Buy) and decide for yourself. For me, the iPad is still the clear leader in both fit & finish, screen (off-angle viewing) and simplicity-user friendliness of OS. And the Apps availability really seals the deal if you want to consider what you will actually do with the hardware once you get it home.

Not everyone in the Netherlands and Germany is happy with it, but T-Mobile has been our exclusive provider of the iPhone 3G and 3GS since their launch and there is no end in sight for us. It would however be very easy and logical for Apple to choose to use T-Mobile in the US, not only because no hardware modification is necessary (I noticed myself last week in Boston that my European iPhone 3G 16GB defaulted to the T-Mobile network or alternatively AT&T when there was no coverage), and it would be a matter of adding an additional country to an existing contract with a company you are already dealing with as opposed to starting from scratch. You Americans may not like it but it is the most logical move for Apple even if it's not the preferred one.

Shame people had to spoil it but xD It was fun while it lasted :P Did Gareth fully install Leopard on his MBP?
Yeah, completed without a hitch. All in all took 20-25 minutes which I thought was rather impressive! I think I'm finally finished with getting Leopard on my Mac Pro and getting everything nice and dandy. Installing it on the iBook took *forever* but I was doing an upgrade on that one.

So as a new MB user, in which everything works fine so far, this update means nothing to me?
first off, WELCOME...second off, just an FYI, all Mac users are required by law to be excited about every update the comes along, and should rush out on a drop of a dime to install it. It's just something you have to do, or your membership to the Mac community gets revoked. 8-)
All joking aside.....I really wish support for Blackberry 7130e as a USB modem would be built in. I have the Verizon software for Windows....and the Mac version (made for Verizon by Smith Micro) does not support the Blackberry yet 8(
I gotta boot into Windows or use Parrallels...yech...

As for Mac App Store... meh... why not do downloads outside of the Mac App Store, I don't want to use that POS. I've been installing OSes from HTTP and FTP since the mid-90s, no need for a "Mac App Store" to do it. What happens if I don't have a 10.6 or 10.7 installation going and just want to wipe the computer ? Linux has been doing network installs from nothing. Upon purchase, just provide a USB thumb-drive image I can put on any 1 GB thumb-drive to boot into the installer where I put in my purchase code or something. No need for the "Mac App Store".
And the world is full of computer super users like us?
If they do it through the App Store it will be a download that you double click and it will either:
A. Make a partition it can book off (AKA restore partition - not a fan personally, i'd delete mine after installation if they did this).
B. Ask for a USB stick or DL-DVD to be written to to allow installation normally.
It will be a minimal click affair. Steps: Where do you want it installed from, enter your password, get a cup of tea.
Once that step is over it will continue as the DVD would one it has restarted.
And the world is full of computer super users like us?
