Sophia, Listen to Your Wisdom

Today's reading was done using The Goddess Oracle.

Sophia is the Greek Goddess of wisdom.
She is know by many other names: Hohkma in hebrew, Sapientia in Latin, Mother of All for Gnostics, and the Holy Spirit in early Christianity.

One of her symbols is the dove. The dove today is still a symbol of purity and wisdom. She is the dove that appeared to Mary and entered her to create life. She is Aprodite's dove who adds wisdom to her beauty to bring peace. Hebrews see her as the female aspect of God. According to Gnostic creation myths she was born of silence and gave birth to both Male and Female who together created all the elements of our material world.

Her sacred shrine is Hagia Sophia in Istanbul

By those who love her she is readily seen,
And found by those who look for her,
In every thought of theirs,
she comes to meet them.
-Wisdom of Solomon 6:12 and 16

You of the whirling wings,
circling, encompassing energy of God:
you quicken the world in your clasp.

One Wing soars in heaven,
one wing sweeps the earth,
and the third flies all around us.

Praise to Sophia!
Let all the earth praise her!

-Hildegard of Bingen

She is here today to remind you to always listen to your inner wisdom. All woman are wise by their very nature but to often we have been taught to not trust ourselves. Don't listen to others who will make you second guess your wisdom, this includes your own negative voices.
